Q3 planning done right for Keep.Social

At Luminbrane, we believe in setting bold goals and hitting them. We believe in clarity and alignment. That's why we kicked off our Q3 planning for [Keep.Social](https://Keep.Social){:target="_blank"} together with our trusted partners at Combination in Gothenburg.

Combination is a highly skilled product development team, and we're proud to collaborate with them. Together, we've embraced the OKR (Objectives and Key Results) methodology to stay focused, aligned, and ambitious. Planning across multiple teams requires coordination and shared direction. By setting joint OKRs, we ensure every initiative ladders up to the big picture.

THIS Connect London 2025 presentation session

During the session, Richard shared fresh insights from the recent UserTesting.com This Connect conference in London, highlighting emerging trends in user empathy, feedback loops, and how to ensure product decisions stay rooted in real user needs. His reflections helped sharpen how we think about product quality and how to measure what actually matters to end users.

The insights from London provided a perfect foundation for our strategic discussions, helping us understand how to build products that truly resonate with users and deliver measurable value.

Team collaboration during planning session

Marcus then outlined the shared OKRs for Q3, helping us zoom out to long-term success while staying grounded in actionable goals. These common Objectives and Key Results will steer both teams in the same direction.

The collaborative energy in the room was palpable as both teams aligned on priorities and discussed how to measure success. This kind of cross-team planning is essential when building products that require tight coordination between multiple stakeholders.

Working across organizations requires more than just shared goals - it demands trust, clear communication, and a willingness to adapt when priorities shift or new information emerges.

A day on the water, strengthening bonds outside the office

Team building on RIB boats in Gothenburg archipelago

After a productive planning session, we made space for something just as important: team connection. The Luminbrane and Combination teams spent a memorable day out in the Gothenburg archipelago, speeding through the waters in fast RIB boats, soaking up the sun, spray, and shared laughs.

There's something about the open sea and a bit of adrenaline that brings people together. These shared experiences reinforce the trust and camaraderie we rely on when building products across company lines. Work hard, plan smart and don't forget to make time for joy.

The boat excursion wasn't just fun – it was strategic. When teams know each other as people, not just colleagues, they communicate more openly and collaborate more effectively. These relationships become invaluable when facing tough decisions or tight deadlines.

Thinking about using OKRs in your team?

A few tips to start

🎯 Start with the "Why"

Align your objectives with your mission and make sure it adds value to a Vision you believe in. If the team doesn't believe in the goal, it won't stick.

🔍 Keep it focused

One to three objectives per team is often enough. Less is more. It is very easy to set too many goals which will be counter productive.

📊 Make KRs measurable

If you can't track progress, you'll drift. This is much harder than it sounds, practice makes perfect.

🤝 Involve everyone

OKRs work best when the whole team contributes, not just top-down.

🔄 Review regularly

Use weekly check-ins to keep the goals alive and align on progress

As we move into Q3, we're excited about what's next for Keep.Social.

With the right goals and the right partners anything is possible.

Using the right tool for the job

When planning across teams, the tools you use matter. We've used Miro for years to support collaborative workshops and product planning. But this quarter, we're testing FigJam to see how well it meets our needs for real-time collaboration.

So far, FigJam has a big win when it comes to pricing and presentation features. One standout is the ability to embed Figma design prototypes directly into slides, making it easier to align design and product thinking in the same space.

We'll keep experimenting, but it's already proving to be a strong fit for our cross-functional workflows.

If you're new to OKRs or want to deepen your understanding, we highly recommend "Measure What Matters" by John Doerr.

It's a foundational book that explores how organizations like Google, Intel, and nonprofits use OKRs to drive focus, alignment, and explosive growth. It's been a helpful reference for our own approach at Luminbrane.
